Admission to the EPIC program

Students wishing to apply for admission to Miami University’s Master of Education in Educational Psychology program as an EPIC student should be working with their cooperating institution in China to become eligible candidates.

Candidates who are eligible to apply for admission to Miami University’s Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Psychology should follow the procedures outlined below.

  • Submit an application to Miami University’s Graduate School. Applicants must have completed a university degree at least equivalent to the American Bachelor's degree. Applicants must submit 1 copy of the academic record or transcript with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0.
  • Submit proof of English Proficiency. Acceptable tests and minimum scores for admission include: TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS 6.5, PTE 54.*
  • Three letters of reference asserting the applicants academic and professional competence for completing the degree.
  • A one- to two-page essay establishing a purpose for pursuing the M.Ed. in Educational Psychology degree. The essay should provide a framework of previous experience in related professional settings and include the applicant’s goals.

* Students with lower exam scores may be offered conditional admission to Miami University’s American Culture and English Graduate Program (ACE-G). Details about ACE-G are available on our Resources page.

Applicants should submit their application and supporting documents directly to the Graduate School. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their materials online.

The admission application deadline for the following fall term is May 1. Applicants are notified of the admission decision by the Graduate School.
