Emily Wright, M.S. '17 Announced as Winner of the 2018 AASP Masters Thesis Award

Emily WrightCongratulations to Emily Wright, M.S. ’17 – winner of the 2018 Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) Master’s Thesis Award.

AASP is an international, multidisciplinary, professional organization with over 2,500 members in 55 countries worldwide, with backgrounds in a variety of areas including sport science, social work, counseling and clinical psychology.

Emily’s thesis titled “Parents’ Perfectionism, Parenting Styles, and Views of Sport Specialization” was completed under the direction of Dr. Melissa Chase (Chair), Dr. Robin Vealey, and Dr. Thelma Horn. Her Master's thesis was selected as the best thesis among the 2017 submissions from countries around the world.

She is the third Miami University graduate student selected for the prestigious AASP Master’s Thesis Award. Previous winners and faculty advisors include Hallur Hallsson and Dr. Robert Weinberg, Nick Galli and Dr. Robin Vealey. Emily is currently a doctoral student at Michigan State University.
