Miami alum named Texas Regional Teacher of the Year

The Texas Education Agency named the recipients of the Teacher of the Year award, the state's highest honor for educators, for Education Service Center Region 2. Over the course of her 31-year career, Laura Groseclose has been a student-teacher mentor, science lab/fair organizer, yearbook adviser, UIL Ready Writing coach, two-time campus teacher of the year and a Shining Star Honored Educator. She earned a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
