Graduates Say Their Goodbyes

  • {Graduates Say Their Goodbyes}

    "All roads don't lead to Oxford. To get here, you have to want to get here; but once you're here, you never want to leave." Yep, it's sappy status time. As I drive away from Oxford, I can't help but to be extremely sad, but mostly grateful for the past four years I've spent at the amazing Miami University. I have met the most amazing people ever, had the greatest experiences, had an amazing education with the best professors, and was able to discover something that I'm passionate about, enough to make a profession out of it. I can't imagine not being there anymore. How will I ever find a bar to replace Top Deck?? It'll be a struggle. It's been amazing, Miami. Thanks for some great times. Oxford should already start preparing for Homecoming 2k13. Love and honor.

    Can't believe graduation has come and passed making me a college graduate. Thank you Miami University for a fabulous 4 years. I've met some of the best people in my life and have made some great memories. I also want to thank my friends and family near and far for the love and support during these years. Love & Honor!

    One major thing Miami University has taught me is the importance of balance. It wasn't until I started throwing myself into student organizations and on campus activities that I truly started to learn all that Miami University had to offer. It seemed the more things I had on my plate, the better I studied and the more fun I had. It's a place where I met my best friends, learned from some of the best undergraduate professors, and experienced things I could only ever do if I attended this school. I'm so thankful for my entire experience here, and I know I'm graduating a wiser, more responsible and better person because I attended Miami University.

    This is the place where I struggled through late and stressful nights in architecture studio, but came out in one piece. I was shown by my brothers in Delta Sigma Phi the importance of leadership and loyalty, and I saw the things that bind us all in the exchange students I met while I studied in Finland. I was taught the importance of balance as well as the necessity of having the support of your friends in my encounters at homes, dorms, uptown, and everywhere in between. And, of course, I cannot forget the gratitude I feel toward the teachers who worked day after day to better the lives of all their students. This is Miami.

    Move-out week is one of the busiest weeks in Oxford! Many students leave campus during the summer and simply cannot take everything with them; thus, much of what they leave behind is redistributed through community organizations.

    Collection of items through ShareFest Oxford prevents waste, promotes cleanliness, and helps people in need. Thank you students, for another successful year!
