Biography
Harshini Siriwardane (Ph.D., CMA) is a visiting assistant professor in the First Year Integrated Core Program. Harshini has over 20 years of experience in academia. She has taught at higher education institutions in different states as well internationally. She has mainly been an accounting academic, and has taught a variety of courses in both financial and managerial accounting at undergraduate and graduate levels. Her research interests are in accounting education, management controls, and changing role of management accounting. She is especially keen in publishing case studies in peer reviewed journals. Recently, a case study she co-authored won an international award. As an exam question reviewer, Harshini has an active role in the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). Currently is teaching BUS 101 and is excited to work with freshman undergraduate students.
