Farmer School Alumnus Appointed SEC Chief Accountant

August 2012

The Securities and Exchange Commission recently appointed Paul A. Beswick, a 1994 Farmer School of Business graduate, as its Acting Chief Accountant.

"Paul is a shining example of the successful track records of Farmer School accounting graduates," said Farmer School Dean Roger L. Jenkins, the Mitchell P. Rales Chair in Business Leadership. "We are proud to count him among our most successful alumni."

Beswick will oversee accounting interpretations, international accounting matters, and professional practice issues.

Prior to joining the SEC staff, Beswick was a partner with Ernst & Young LLP, working in the firm's Professional Practice and Risk Management Group. He previously served as a practice fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board.
