Speakers Add to FSB Experience

December 2014

One of the hallmarks of the Farmer School is the unique opportunity students have to interact with executives from the private, public and governmental sectors to discuss and voice opinions on a broad range of topics. We are honored that more than two hundred executives believed our students worthy of their time and talent in 2014 and look forward to welcoming even more to campus in 2015.

The majority of these speakers remain on campus for informal meetings, discussions and meals with students, providing an additional student benefit - experience talking with and engaging in high-level discussions with senior executives. As a result, recruiters routinely remark that Farmer School students exhibit a maturity level and professional "polish" rarely found in undergraduates.

Our faculty are equally as enthusiastic. As a Marketing professor noted, "Speakers add an external validity to what we discuss in class. Students are better able to assimilate concepts after they hear real-world examples and applications of these concepts in use. I am impressed both by the number and variety of high-caliber individuals who view the Farmer School and our students a worthy use of their valuable time."

Our Executive Speaker Series, Supply Chain Speakers Series, Cradle of Marketers, Anderson Distinguished Lecture Series and Visiting Executives Program combined with presenters to every business student organization provided Farmer School students with a wealth of knowledge, exposure to diversity of thought and a competitive edge in their professional development and career search.
