Twaronite Chosen as Divisional Ceremony Speaker

February 2015

The Farmer School is pleased to announce alumna Karyn Twaronite, Global Diversity & Inclusiveness Officer at EY, as this year’s Divisional Recognition Ceremony speaker.

Karyn launched her career as a CPA and tax professional at EY after graduating from Miami’s Farmer School of Business in 1990. She became a partner in 2002 and was later tapped to lead the Talent function in the Northeast, the United States and Canada, and then to lead Diversity and Inclusiveness efforts for the firm’s Americas region. This year, she was also named EY’s Global Diversity & Inclusiveness Officer, working closely with leaders around the globe to create a more inclusive environment for all of EY’s 190,000 people worldwide by effectively leveraging their differences, such as gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, generation and thinking style. Her team spearheads cutting-edge programs that address issues such as flexibility, equitable sponsorship, mentoring and career advancement in today’s 24/7 global working world.

As she so eloquently has stated, “Diversity and inclusiveness are key components of our business strategy and central to the success of our people and our markets. When we act on our commitment to D&I, we work effectively across cultures to maximize the power of our differences. This serves as a benefit to all of our people, creating the highest-performing teams, and delivering better service for our clients.”

The Divisional Recognition Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 17th at 2:00PM in Miami’s Millett Hall.
