FAMU-Miami Student Exchange

The Farmer School of Business at Miami University (https://www.miamioh.edu/fsb/), and the School of Business & Industry at Florida A&M University (http://www.famu.edu/index.cfm?a=sbi), are launching an exciting, student exchange designed to build crucial skills in cultural competence (CQ). As a key initiative coming from President Crawford’s DEI Taskforce, students from FAMU and Miami will take a virtual course together, do semester-long study at each institution, and participate in a professional summer internship.

Proposed Timeline:

Spring 2021: Recruiting of student cohort, ideally 4-5 students from each institution.

Fall 2021: Shared course: MGT 304, Cross-Cultural Management, taught by Dr. Darryl Rice of the Farmer School of Business. FAMU students will take this remotely, and the cohort will work in virtual teams on class projects.

Spring 2022: The students in the program will take classes together on-campus @ FAMU.

Summer 2022: Shared Internship Experience

Fall 2022: The students in the program will take classes together on-campus @ Miami University.
