The goal of the StrategyWorks program is to engage marketing students' critical thinking skills, risk taking, creativity and decision-making through a dynamic workplace experience. Students are challenged on all levels of a comprehensive marketing strategy project. By moving past their former comfort zones, team building, problem solving, evaluation and innovation skills are enhanced.

Teams of students from multiple disciplines work together throughout the semester to formulate a singular plan for a real-world client problem. The resulting experience offers real value to students and the sponsoring company alike. Student teams compete internally to determine a champion from each section. The client sponsor questions the winners through a panel and a winning campaign in selected, with the sponsor often implementing elements of the winner's plan.

Past clients and projects include:

  • Nestle: Cultivate a strategy to move the image of the organization past chocolate and into that of a world leader in nutrition and health.
  • NCAA Basketball: Develop a strategic plan to engage the 22 and younger demographic in the NCAA Tournament.
