Outstanding Students Honored with Scholarships

April 2013

Juniors Will Tso (finance) and Maxwell Belza (accountancy) have been awarded 2013 Financial Executives International (FEI) Cincinnati chapter scholarships. Both students were selected by their respective departments as exemplary rising seniors.

The FEI Cincinnati Chapter awards scholarships to eleven students each year. Tso and Belza will each receive $1,500 to be used towards tuition and fees.

"I honestly feel incredibly honored to have been chosen by my department," said Tso, (shown left front in photo). "I really appreciate all of my professors who have and continue to support me. The scholarship gave me reassurance that I was thinking about things the right way and performing at a high level. I hope I can continue to be a positive reflection of the great education I have received here."

"To be recognized as one of the most promising students in the department really gives me a sense of pride about the work that I have been able to accomplish so far at Miami," said Belza, (shown front row, second from left). "It also keeps me motivated to continue to improve myself and develop professionally as I move forward. I plan on trying to study abroad during the new January Semester next year, and this scholarship will open up more funds to go towards that."

Award recipients were honored on April 14th during the Cincinnati Chapter Meeting and Scholarship Ceremony. This year's featured speaker was Miami University president David Hodge.
