Alumna Makes $75,000 Gift to Analytics Program

Miami alumna and Business Advisory Council member, Patty Morrison, has made a $75,000 gift supporting the continued growth and development of the Farmer School of Business’ Business Information Systems and Analytics Programs.
“Analytics literacy and proficiency are key skillsets for our students, and our faculty must be constantly revising and updating their curriculum to focus on this critical area.” said Farmer School Dean Matt Myers, the Mitchell P. Rales Chair in Business Leadership.
Ms. Morrison is the executive vice president and chief information officer for Cardinal Health and is a 1980 Miami graduate with bachelor’s degrees in mathematics, statistics and mathematics education. A frequent speaker on campus, she serves on both the Information Systems & Analytics Advisory Board and the Farmer School Business Advisory Council.
ISA chair, Skip Benamati, noted, “The tremendous growth in the demand for Information Systems and Analytics classes has been driven by the recognition by both Farmer School faculty and students of the importance of analytics and systems to set students apart from others in similar programs here and elsewhere.”
The Fund will be used to support formal training and summer stipends for faculty members in the Farmer School of Business to enhance and improve the Information Systems and Analytics curriculum. Grants will encourage additional work and training over the summer semester that enriches coursework and program development.
