China Business Program

The China Business Program (CBP) is designed to better prepare students for entry into an increasingly globalized workplace by developing an understanding of the culture and customs of China through language study, overseas experience, and associated coursework.  The program will help develop students' critical thinking and contextual skills by allowing students to study and personally experience the rapid pace of economic development and social change in China and Asia. The program is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in business and who have a strong interest in China and Asia. 

Certificate Information

  • Open to Business students only
  • All requirements for this program must be approved in advance by the Director of the China Business Program.
  • Students may pursue a self-designed thematic sequence for the Cultural Experience.  This must be pre-approved by the Office of Liberal Education and the Director of the China Business Program.  
  • The International Business Minor must include approved general electives related to China. 
  • A 2.0 GPA is required in all coursework

  • Two years or more of Chinese (CHI 202)

Cultural Experience (choose one):

Overseas Experience (choose one):

  • Semester of study abroad in China
  • Pre-approved internship in China (8 weeks)
  • Two of the following:
    • Pre-approved FSB faculty-led program 
    • Tianjin Summer Intensive Chinese Language Program
    • Completion of pre-approved business-related internship in China (4 weeks)
