Thursday, August 30

Concert in Uptown Park (Robin Lacy & DeZydeco) & Community Picnic 

6 p.m., Uptown Parks

With the Miami students back in town and the school year starting up, the energy in Oxford, Ohio is picking up from the slow days of summer. Come enjoy a final night of summer and celebrate the arrival of Miami University’s students with Oxford, Ohio’s Annual Community Picnic!

This Cincinnati party band is sure to make the uptown concert a party real quickly! Inspired by the Cajun-styled bands of southwest Louisiana, this Louisiana-style rock n' roll group has plenty of catchy tunes to keep you entertained all night. This concert will begin at 6:00 p.m. so come enjoy some free burgers with friends during our beloved Community Picnic!


House Decorating Contest

The annual Homecoming House Decorating Contest is time for the students of Miami University to use their creative ideas and spirits to decorate their student houses and fraternity houses of Oxford and residence halls to help celebrate Miami University’s Homecoming! This fun and exciting competition brings together students of all years in their celebration of Miami’s Homecoming! With a prize incentive, students can use this year’s Homecoming theme as an inspiration when decorating their houses and residence halls in order to see who shares the best Homecoming spirit! Presented by the Miami University Student Foundation (MUSF), the Homecoming House Decorating Contest is long-standing tradition at Miami University, and is a great way for students to get competitive and showcase their Miami spirit! Houses must be decorated by Thursday, August 30 for judging on Friday, August 31.

Friday, August 31

Love & Honor 5K

6:30 p.m., Begins at Yager Stadium

Celebrate our beautiful campus and the community of Miami University as you walk or run in the Homecoming Love & Honor 5K! This run, hosted by the Miami University Student Foundation (MUSF), helps raise money for student scholarships at Miami University. As an active participant, you'll have the chance to run along paths both familiar and new, as well as check out Miami's beautiful campus along the way!

Homecoming Feast

5–8 p.m., Western Dining Commons

Enjoy a delicious dinner Friday night at Western Dining Commons before the Homecoming activities begin. Cost: Buffet swipe for students; Guest swipe or cash/card ($12.95) for families or other non-students. No reservations needed. First come, first served.


Homecoming Huddle & Movie Night at Yager

8 p.m., Yager Stadium (Rain location: Wilks Theater – Armstrong Student Center)

Come celebrate Homecoming free giveaways, free food, and a movie! You'll also have a chance to meet the 2018 Homecoming Court and student organizations can pick up their parking pass for tailgating!

Draft Day will be playing on the big screen, beginning at 8 p.m. Fun fact: The writer of Draft Day, Rajiv Joseph, is a Miami alum (Class of '96)!

Saturday, September 1

Oxford Farmers' Market

8 a.m.–Noon, Uptown Parks

More than just produce, this award winning Farmers' Market has baked goods, little sprout kids activities, and artisan wares. Our market is a staple of the Oxford community, join us!


M.O.V.E Bootcamp

10 a.m. (but we recommend arriving a few minutes early), Lewis Place Backyard

M.O.V.E stands for Miami and Oxford Value Exercise because we do! Join this free fun fitness event, taught by Miami Rec Sports Group Fitness Instructors, in the backyard of Lewis Place. Bring a water bottle and a positive attitude, and make sure to wear comfortable clothes! Free long sleeved t-shirts for participants (while supplies last).

Miami RedHawk Tailgating

10:30 a.m., Millett Lawn & East Lot

Start gameday off right with tailgating! Set up your own tailgate or join with another tailgate in the RedZone, located on the West side of Millett. Tailgaters can also help welcome the Miami Football team to the stadium around 1:15 p.m. during the Hawk Walk!

Come out for free food and lawn games! Students can catch a ride on the shuttle to tailgating.
