Planned outage: Database migration

On the weekend of March 16, IT Services will be performing a sizable database migration that will impact a large number of Miami services.

Starting at 6 pm on Friday, March 16, IT Services will be conducting planned maintenance that requires us to shut down a couple databases. During this outage all processes and services that use these databases will be unavailable. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Banner and BannerWeb, both version 8 and 9
  • Miami Directory
  • TRAIN
  • Course List
  • ePromise
  • Photo Roster
  • HireTouch integration
  • myMiami (portlets)
  • myMiami (site will be down Sunday, March 18 from 6 to 7 am)

Services that will NOT be impacted include: Kronos (Clock in and Clock out), Google Apps, Canvas.

We plan to be finished with all the migrations by Sunday morning (March 18).

If you have any comments, questions, or concerns about this work, please contact Brian Henebry, director of technology architecture, services, and operations, at henebrbm@miamioh.edu or 513 529-0580.
