Farmer School announces Greg Jones Family Gift
Dec 18, 2009“I have been very impressed with the direction of the Farmer School over the past several years, exemplified by the completion of its state-of-the-art building this past summer,” said Jones. “My family and I are pleased that we have been able to play a part in helping the school achieve excellence.”
“Greg has always been a strong supporter of business education at Miami University and has been an active member of our Business Advisory Council for the past 10 years,” said Farmer School Dean Roger L. Jenkins. “He is keenly aware of the importance of gifts, like his, that can be used strategically to take advantage of opportunities.”
Jones, who graduated from Miami in 1983 with a major in marketing, subsequently earned an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He held executive posts with several major companies before assuming his current position with Edgewater Funds. He also serves on the boards of a number of private companies and is vice-chairman of the NorthShore University Health System.
Jones has been actively involved with the Farmer School’s Chicago Finance Week program, in which a group of finance majors spends a week in Chicago experiencing first-hand the dynamics of the commodities and financial markets.
