Men's Golf Unveils 2010-11 Schedule
Jul 13, 2010Head men’s golf coach Casey Lubahn announced Miami’s 2010-11 schedule on Tuesday. The RedHawks will be participating in 12 tournaments this season (six in the fall and six in the spring), finishing up the year by hosting the 2011 MAC Tournament at TPC River’s Bend Apr. 29-May 1 (2010-11 Men's Golf Schedule).
“We are very excited about the schedule for next season,” said Lubahn. “These events are going to allow our student-athletes the best chance to compete amongst the nation’s best while also balancing a mix of tournaments across the country. The season will culminate with our hosting of the MAC Championships at TPC River’s Bend in Maineville, Ohio, providing our alumni, fans, and friends a chance to watch us compete for a championship.”
The season opens with three tournaments in the region. The RedHawks will participate in the Marshall Invitational Sept. 13-14 and follow it up with the Cardinal Intercollegiate in Louisville, Ky., Sept. 20-21. They will then travel to Notre Dame for the Fighting Irish Golf Classic Sept. 27-28.
Miami will then begin to travel a bit to conclude the fall season. The RedHawks will take part in tournaments in Ft. Myers, Fla. (Oct. 3-4), Beallsville, Md. (Oct. 18-19) and Pebble Beach, Calif. (Oct. 25-26).
The spring season begins with the Rice Intercollegiate Feb. 21-22. After two trips to Florida for tournaments in March, Miami will hit the homestretch by participating in the Hawkeye Invitational (Apr. 16-17) at the University of Iowa and in the Kepler Intercollegiate (Apr. 23-24), which is hosted by Ohio State. All that leads up to the 72-hole MAC Championship, where the RedHawks will look to earn an NCAA bid.
“Coming off a season of growth and serious progress, we look forward to pushing through to the next level of our nationally-competitive development with this slate of tournaments,” said Lubahn.
