Miami University welcomes the Dalai Lama
Oct 12, 2010His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet will present “Ethics in a Modern World,” at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, Millett Hall. The event is sold out.
Doors will open at noon. Ticket holders are encouraged to arrive early. Everyone will be required to undergo a security screening that includes metal detectors and purse searches.
Attendees are allowed to bring the following items: small purses, rain ponchos, notebook/pens, a personal camera (please, no flash photography), and one unopened plastic bottle of water. Many personal items are prohibited including: backpacks, laptop computers, umbrellas, strollers, signs or banners, recording devices, pets. Concession stands at Millett will be open to purchase food and drink.
Miami University students, faculty and staff are being asked to either walk or take the Miami Metro bus service to Millett to minimize parking issues. The West Millett Lot will be open for off-campus visitors beginning at 11 a.m. Disability parking will be available - follow signs to North and West Millett. Tickets are still available for remote site video simulcast presentations at the following locations: Hall Auditorium on the Oxford campus, Parrish Auditorium at the Hamilton campus and Dave Finkelman Auditorium at the Middletown campus. The simulcast at Voice of America Learning Center in West Chester is sold out. Tickets are free for these alternate-viewing venues, but there is assigned seating. Interested parties must obtain tickets through the Miami University Box Office. There is a four-ticket limit per person.
