Miami to award 795 diplomas during fall commencement

Miami University will present 795 diplomas during its fall commencement ceremony at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, in Millett Hall. President David Hodge will preside over the ceremony.

Ryan Barilleaux, professor of political science, will give the commencement address. Barilleaux was named the 2010 Effective Educator.

A member of the board of trustees and Greg Dunlop (Miami ’94), president of the Miami University Alumni Association, will present brief remarks.

The winner of the E. Phillips Knox Teaching Award, given annually to a faculty member who has demonstrated excellence and innovation in teaching at the undergraduate level, will be announced.

Conferral of diplomas will include 97 associate’s, 590 bachelor’s, 93 master’s and 15 doctorates.
