Miami's Farmer School again ranks among best in nation
Mar 04, 2011The Farmer School of Business
is ranked in the top 25 undergraduate business schools, according to
Business Week's sixth annual survey of the nation's best undergraduate
business programs. The school placed 22nd overall and 7th among those
programs offered by public universities and colleges in the U.S.
In addition to being in the nation’s top 5 percent of schools, the
Farmer School was the only Ohio program in the top 25 and one of only
two Ohio institutions in the top 50. The rankings were announced
Thursday, March 3.
"We are very pleased with Business Week’s assessment of our
continued growth as one of the strongest undergraduate business programs
in the nation, and the top program in Ohio," said Farmer School Dean
Roger L. Jenkins. "Our high ranking reflects the culture of excellence
embraced by our students, faculty and staff, and our quest to keep
improving in everything we do. Our marvelous new facility has
transformed the way we communicate and collaborate, and has brought 21st
century learning technology into every classroom.”
Feedback from students and recruiters is ultimately the most
valuable aspect of the rankings process, Jenkins added. "We take
comments from students and employers very seriously as we assess the
progress we are making on our strategic initiatives, which will speed us
on our journey ‘from good to great’.”
The Farmer School of Business provides an academically rigorous
program enhanced by real-world experience and many opportunities to
study abroad. Its accountancy,
entrepreneurship, and supply chain programs rank among the nation’s
best, in surveys conducted by publications in those fields. The Farmer
School’s 14-month MBA program was ranked 3rd in the U.S. and 9th in the
world in The Wall Street Journal’s 2009 evaluation of accelerated MBA
programs.
