National choral group holds first conference
The National Collegiate Choral Organization, the brainchild of William Bausano (music), reached a milestone Nov. 2-4 with its first national conference held in San Antonio, Texas.
More than 250 collegiate choral directors from around the country attended the conference that included performances by 16 choirs, panel discussions and sessions on technique, repertoire and style.
Bausano founded the group more than two years ago and has served as its first president. The organization was formed to serve the specific needs of university and collegiate choral conductors by providing a national forum for their choruses to perform, offering lectures, promoting repertoire suitable to their interests and aiding in professional development and program growth and maintenance.
There are currently 400 members. For more information, visit www.muohio.edu/ncco.
