Senate action

At the Monday, Feb. 25, University Senate meeting, Provost Jeffrey Herbst announced that on Feb. 28 and 29 IT services will perform scans on university computers with Altiris installed to gather information about three specific software programs. The scans will measure the installations of various versions of Microsoft Office, the number of SAS licenses in use across the university, and the concurrent use of Adobe Creative Suite licenses in classrooms and labs. The data will be collected in aggregate form and will not identify individual users.

Dave Sauter, university registrar, updated Senators concerning proposed changes to the daytime standard timeblock.

Senate approved revisions to the Bylaws of University Senate, Section 6, Committees, removing stipulations for the School of Interdisciplinary Studies divisional representation on Senate committees effective June 30, 2008.

Senate received the consent calendar.

The next Senate meeting will be 3:05 p.m. March 10 in 111 Harrison Hall.
