Acacia Fraternity found responsible for violation

The Miami University chapter of Acacia Fraternity has been found responsible for violating the Code of Student Conduct, Section 105B (prohibited use of alcohol).

An incident was reported in January involving a minor consuming alcohol to the point of intoxication while at the Acacia house.

An administrative hearing was conducted in the office of ethics and conflict resolution on Tuesday, February 24.

The following sanctions have been imposed on the fraternity:

  • Members of Acacia Fraternity must complete an alcohol education course with 80 percent of their members and 100 percent of the most recent new member class attending.

  • Acacia Fraternity must provide a copy of their current risk management policy, as well as a report detailing changes they will implement to the policy in light of this incident.
