Tom Miller, a widely published travel writer will conduct a question-and-answer session at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in 337 Bachelor Hall at Miami University. The event is free and open to the public.
Miller also will conduct a workshop titled "Writing about Your International Study: The Lens Through Which You Understand Another Culture" at 4 p.m. in 212 MacMillan Hall.
During the workshop, open to all Miami students, Miller will present how to write an article, personal narrative or blog post on various cultures in ways that readers will understand. Using his work on Latin America and the Southwest, Miller will offer students significant insight on how to successfully create cultural pieces.
The event is presented by Miami’s journalism program and the Miami University chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. The event is sponsored by the Howe Center for Writing Excellence and the Department of Latin American, Latino and Caribbean Studies.
