171 high school seniors on campus today

10/30/2009

Today (Nov. 2) 171 multicultural high school seniors from Chillicothe, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Hamilton and Middletown are completing a two-day stay on campus for the Bridges Program. This is the second session of Bridges this fall, hosting high-achieving underrepresented students from across Ohio.

Nearly 800 students applied for 300 spaces in the two sessions.

Students are given a campus tour, admission and financial aid information, academic sessions and spend time with Miami students and faculty.

Students who successfully complete the program are granted an application fee waiver when applying for fall 2010 admission to Miami's Oxford campus. If accepted for admission, participants will receive a $4,000 four-year renewable merit scholarship awarded only to Bridges students.

Additional information is on the Bridges Web site: www.miami.muohio.edu/admission/bridges/.
