Klosowska awarded best article prize

Anna Klosowska, associate professor of French and Italian at Miami University, has been awarded the Sixteenth Century Society and Conference (SCSC) 2009 Nancy Lyman Roelker Prize for the best article published in English on sixteenth-century French history during the preceding calendar year.

Klosowska received the prize for her article, "Erotica and women in early modern France: Madeleine de l'Aubespine's Queer Poems," in the Journal of the History of Sexuality Vol. 17 no. 2 (2008).

Criteria for selection of best article include quality and originality of research; methodological skill and/or innovation; development of fresh and stimulating interpretations or insights and literary quality.

Klosowska’s work was funded in part through summer research and travel grants and a sabbatical research appointment. She has been invited to present a lecture on this topic at Harvard University in February.
