If more than 3" of snow, avoid parking in snow routes

01/06/2010

With the National Weather Service issuing a Winter Storm Watch for Thursday, Jan. 7, Miami staff and faculty are reminded not to park their cars on marked snow routes.

Individuals need to move their vehicles from specific streets that are designated as snow routes when there is at least 3 inches of snow or during any designated Snow Emergency. Check www.cityofoxford.org/ for Snow Emergency information.

Vehicles parked on snow routes during a snow emergency are subject to citations and towing.

Snow routes are designated by a red, blue and white sign. A list of all designated snow routes follows and is also available at www.cityofoxford.org/.

Students who live in Oxford may park in the West Millett lot when Oxford snow routes must be cleared, and may leave the car in the lot for 48 hours after the snow emergency is lifted. A permit is not required to park in the West Millett lot during this time.
