Zoology graduate student wins second place for presentation


Christopher Distel, a doctoral student in zoology at Miami University, finished second in the 2009 Best Student Platform Presentation Competition (Ph.D.) at the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) North America Annual Meeting held last November.

Distel’s presentation, "Effects of insecticide exposure on heterospecific competition at varying tadpole densities in American toads and northern leopard frogs" won second place out of 127 presentations in the Ph.D. category.

He is advised by Michelle Boone, assistant professor of zoology.
