Michael Todd Edwards
Michael Todd Edwards has been granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of teacher education. He received bachelor’s degrees from Miami in 1990; master’s degrees from Ohio University in 1995 and a Ph.D. from Ohio State University in 2001. He was assistant professor of mathematics education at John Carroll University before joining Miami in 2006. He also taught mathematics and computer science at Upper Arlington High School from 1995 to 2000. Edwards’ professional activities involve work with preservice and practicing mathematics teachers. His research involves the use of technology in the teaching and learning of school mathematics - with particular emphasis on computer algebra systems, dynamic geometry software and pencasting technology. He serves as a co-editor for the Ohio Journal of School Mathematics, is a contributing author with the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project (UCSMP) and is a co-director of the Geogebra Institute of Ohio. As a regional instructor for Texas Instruments’ Teachers Teaching with Technology (T3), he enjoys exploring technology-related teaching issues with area teachers.
