Daniel Gladish
Daniel Gladish has been promoted to professor of botany. His research has explored how environmental factors, such as temperature and hypoxia due to flooding, affect the way root systems develop. His research in programmed cell death in soybean roots is currently funded by the Ohio Plant Biotechnology Consortium, and he continues to publish in top-ranked journals such as Plant and Cell Physiology and the American Journal of Botany. He is director of The Conservatory at Miami Hamilton. Gladish teaches courses in basic plant biology, ecology, environmental studies and cell and molecular biology. He has supervised five graduate students and several undergraduates in independent research. He has served on numerous committees of the university, currently serves on the Hamilton City Tree Board and Green Development Committee and is on the editorial board of the journal, The Plant Root. He received the MUH Excellence in Scholarship award for 2008-2009.
