Miami University alumni Brent '91 and Katie (Hurst) '90 Gledhill have committed $100,000 to provide additional funds to Miami's Farmer School of Business' study abroad scholarship program.
Brent is the global head of corporate finance for William Blair & Company and a current member of the Farmer School’s Business Advisory Council. Katie is a former accountant for KPMG in International Tax and earned her master’s degree in taxation from De Paul University.
The Gledhills, who lived in London for nearly a decade, felt strongly that providing current and future Miami students with the opportunity to study abroad would have a terrific impact on their lives and futures.
“We feel that this is the best way for us to contribute to the next generation of Farmer students, who will need this kind of experience to explore and participate in the global economy,” Katie said.
“The Gledhills understand that future Farmer graduates would be limiting themselves if they didn’t look for opportunities beyond their region and country,” Roger Jenkins, dean of the Farmer School, said. “We want the Farmer School to be a launching pad for tomorrow’s business ambassadors.”
The Gledhills live in Chicago with their two daughters. Brent, who earned his MBA from Harvard University in 1997, is a member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, the Executive’s Club of Chicago and Harvard Club of Chicago.
