"Rethinking the Feminist Position on Care and Mothering"


Nancy Hirschmann, R. Jean Brownlee Endowed Term Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania, will present "Rethinking the Feminist Position on Care and Mothering: Or, What's Wrong with Caring Too Much?" at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, in room 100 of the art building.

Hirschmann is author of several books including Gender, Class and Freedom in Modern Political Theory and The Subject of Liberty: Toward a Feminist Theory of Freedom, which won the American Political Science Association’s 2004 Victoria Shuck Award for Best Book on Women and Politics.

Her talk is sponsored by the women’s, gender and sexuality studies program.
