Vendor presentations will be held beginning this week for the Miami community to review products that will provide tools to generate reports based on specific criteria selected.
It services' Business Intelligence (BI) project has reviewed RFPs for a BI Data Visualization Tool that uses existing university data from sources like Banner, Kronos, People Soft and others to create real-time reports. This will generate savings in terms of staff time needed to create reports and inform strategic institutional decision-making. The need for better quality information has been identified in several recent university-wide studies including the Strategic Priorities Task Force and the IT services strategic planning initiative.
Three vendor presentations have been scheduled. The first portion of the presentations will focus on the how the tool can be used, with the second half focused on the more technical aspects. Anyone with an interest in the BI project is welcome to attend.
