One of the Strategic Priorities Taskforce recommendations is that Miami University hire a consultant to look at how the university is currently administered and delivers services that support the instructional and research mission of the university. The firm would be asked to suggest options for how services can be maintained or improved while being delivered more cost-effectively. Miami has hired Accenture to lead this work that begins this week.
President David Hodge has appointed a steering committee of representatives from across campus to work with Accenture as it assesses Miami's situation and presents options for the university to consider for implementation. The members of the committee are listed below.
“This is a very high priority for the university because it will help us understand our processes and services, allowing us to identify ways to become more effective and more efficient,” said President David Hodge. “I ask that each of you who are asked to participate do everything possible to meet the requests that Accenture and the steering committee make.”
A number of people at Miami will be asked to provide data or feedback about the functions and areas that are being studied. If you are asked, please provide the information in a timely and accurate manner, in order for the assessment to accurately reflect how services are being provided today.
The meetings with campus groups will begin this week and the project is expected to be completed in mid-April. Periodic updates on progress will be provided through the Miami e-Report and the Strategic Priorities website.
