Students at Miami University will gather to remember and honor those who have served in the armed forces. Events are scheduled on the Oxford, Hamilton and Middletown campuses and the Voice of America Learning Center.
Miami University's Student Veteran Association (SVA) invites the Miami community to a ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in the Sesquicentennial Chapel.
The Middletown and Hamilton campuses will craft cards for veterans and those currently serving the week of Nov. 7.
Miami Middletown will host a Veterans Reception at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, in the Campus & Community Center. The program will feature remarks from Miami students, faculty and staff, highlighting their ties to the armed forces.
At Miami’s Voice of America Learning Center the program will begin at noon on Friday, Nov. 11. Following the program the center, working with Murray Multimedia, will be photographing and recording area veterans as the beginning of an archive of veterans in the West Chester and Liberty Township areas. Veterans are asked to attend wearing something that identifies their branch of service.
Miami Hamilton’s Student Government Association will host a Veterans Memorial Dedication at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11. The program will begin in the Jack Rhodes Study with an unveiling of a stone memorial for veterans between Schwarm and Rentschler Halls.
