A new myMiami will debut for the campus community on Wednesday, Dec. 21. This latest version of myMiami will use the myCampus portal product from CampusEAI instead of the Blackboard portal product that has been in place since 2005.
The updated myMiami will continue to be the source for reaching Niihka courses, BannerWeb tools, announcements and other information and services.
While this first phase of the new myMiami will offer many of the same functions as the current myMiami, there will be some differences. For example, a log in will be required before seeing any of the information or services. Developers are working on a “single sign-on” system, so that all other Miami systems will be automatically signed in, such as Niihka.
The transition to the new myMiami will be ongoing past the Dec. 21 go-live date. A university team is working on refinements and new features that will be available later in 2012. The team is receiving input from several committees of students, staff and faculty.
The myMiami project team also is continuing the process of migrating content from existing Blackboard organizations to new community sites. More information about that process, and the steps needed to take to preserve any files or information will be coming soon.
