On Monday, Nov. 21, Miami University Senate heard special presentations from the benefits committee, Healthy Miami Wellness program, and final reports from the calendar subcommittee and the interdisciplinary enhancement committee.
Senate received the consent calendar which included Senate committee minutes; the 2010-2011 annual report of the Committee on Faculty Rights and Responsibilities; and the proposal to change the name of the department of decision sciences and management information systems to the department of information systems and analytics.
Senate adopted (1) two proposed MAT graduate programs (chemistry education and life/chemistry education), department of teacher education; (2) proposed revisions to the Miami University Policy and Information Manual, Section 11.1, curriculum, changes to the academic curriculum, aligning the approval process for graduate curriculum with the approval process for undergraduate curriculum; and (3) a proposal which would enable students pursuing associate degrees to participate in the University Honors Program.
With the approval of the amended Oct. 10, 2011, University Senate minutes, Senate endorsed Senate resolutions SR 12-01, SR 12-02, SR 12-03, and SR 12-04.

Twenty-five members of Faculty Assembly can challenge the resolutions by filing a petition with the Office of the University Secretary during the ten class days after publication in the e-Report.
