Miami University's office of residence life received an award from the Great Lakes Association of College and University Housing Officers (GLACUHO) at a November conference.
GLACUHO is a regional branch of the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International. Each year, GLACUHO's president gives institutional awards to one large school and one small school in its four-state region to recognize outstanding efforts to support and encourage the association’s mission.
Recipients of this award do not apply but are selected from all the regional association’s member schools. Miami was selected as the 2011 large school award recipient.
According to Vicka Bell-Robinson, associate director of residence life, Miami received the award because its staff is active in GLACUHO by serving on the association’s executive board; contributing to Trends, GLACUHO’s quarterly news magazine; facilitating webinars; and presenting at conferences.
GLACUHO president Ann Klotz said of Miami’s office of residence life, “We are thankful for their continued service and investment into our association.”
