Miami University will present 894 diplomas during its fall commencement ceremony at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Millett Hall. President David Hodge will preside over the ceremony.
Charlotte Newman Goldy, associate professor of history and the 2011 Effective Educator, will give the commencement address.
Sharon Mitchell ('73), vice chair of the Miami University board of trustees, and Nick Selvaggio ('88), vice president of the board of directors of the Miami University Alumni Association, will present brief remarks.
The winner of the E. Phillips Knox Teaching Award, given annually to a faculty member who has demonstrated excellence and innovation in teaching at the undergraduate level, will be announced.
Conferral of diplomas will include 89 associate's, 632 bachelor's, 149 master's and 17 doctorates. Seven certificates will be also be conferred.
