"Latinness:" IntraLatino Subjects in Chicago


Frances Aparicio, professor of Spanish and Portuguese and director of Latino and Latina studies at Northwestern University, will present “Embodying Latinidad: IntraLatino Subjects in Chicago” at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, in 40 Irvin Hall.

Aparicio will present the results of her research on Latinos of mixed national heritage in the city of Chicago and what this means for the concept of "Latinness."

Her talk is sponsored by the departments of Spanish and Portuguese and of English; the Humanities Center, the Center for American and World Cultures; and the Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies program.
