China's new demographic reality topic of Whelpton Lecture

Zachary Zimmer, professor of social and behavioral science at the University California, San Francisco will discuss China's new demographic reality at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, in 108 Marcum Conference Center.

His lecture, “China’s New Demographic Reality and Its Implications for Living Arrangement Shifts among Older Persons,” is the 2012 P.K. Whelpton Memorial Lecture sponsored by Scripps Gerontology Center. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Zimmer’s research incorporates demography, gerontology and sociology and examines the well-being of older adults living in developing countries, particularly countries experiencing rapid demographic and social changes.
