Ray Jacinto
The Miami University Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ricardo Averbach, will perform at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, in Hall Auditorium. The concert will showcase the winners of the department of music's annual Concerto Competition: Ray Jacinto, master’s student in music performance, bassoon; and David Locke, junior music performance major, horn.

The program, “A Journey through Time and Space,” will feature music from various eras, from the Baroque to the 20th century, including Vivaldi’s Concerto for Bassoon in E Minor; Strauss’ Concerto No. 2 for Horn; Ravel’s "Mother Goose Suite" and Leonard Bernstein’s Mambo from “West Side Story,” among others.

Molly Jones, junior music performance major, cello, was also a winner of the Concerto Competition, but will not be performing in the concert.

The concert is free and open to the public.
