C. Michael Gooden named national trustee

C. Michael Gooden
C. Michael Gooden, chairman of the board and CEO of Integrated Systems Analysts, Inc. (ISA), was named a new national trustee by Miami University's board of trustees for a three-year term beginning July 1.

Gooden, of Alexandria, Va., received a bachelor’s of science degree in applied science from Miami University in 1972 and a master of science in engineering from the Moore School, University of Pennsylvania. In 1993, he was awarded an honorary doctor of science degree from Miami.

Gooden co-founded ISA in 1980 and led the personnel development, contract and financial management, and technical pursuits of the company since its inception. ISA is a systems engineering and computer systems services company that provides technology services to business and governments nationwide.

Prior to ISA, Gooden served as engineering duty officer in the United States Navy. His 25-year naval career began in 1963 when he enlisted in the Naval Reserves and was focused in the areas of operation, maintenance, design and integration of shipboard combat weapons systems. He retired as commander in 1988.

Gooden is a member of the American Society of Naval Engineers. He serves on the Board of Overseers, School of Engineering and Applied Science, University of Pennsylvania; the National Science Foundation Advisory Committee for Business and Operations; and on the board of directors of the Smithsonian Institution Libraries.

National trustees on Miami’s board do not vote on university resolutions. The position was created to take advantage of the talents, resources and experiences of Miami University alumni who do not live in Ohio.
