Miami choir to perform in World Choir Games

The Miami University Chamber Chorale, directed by William Bausano and Jeremy Jones, will perform as part of the World Choir Games: July 6 at the Aronoff Center; July 7, “Friendship Concert” at Francis Seraph Church; and July 11, part of the Collegiate Honor Choir at the Aronoff Center.

The Chamber Chorale’s performance at 2 p.m. Friday, July 6, at the Aronoff Center will include a repertoire of music by American composers Norman Dello Joio, Undine Moore and Adolphus Hailstork.

The “Friendship Concert” at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at Francis Seraph Church in downtown Cincinnati includes choirs from Croatia, China and the U.S.

The Collegiate Honor Choir will perform “Music of the World” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at the Aronoff Center, presented by Procter & Gamble. Conducted by Earl Rivers and Nicol Matt, the Collegiate Honor Choir comprises vocalists from Miami and Capital, Northern Kentucky, Wright State and Xavier universities. The Collegiate Honor Choir will perform works by American composer and 2007 National Medal of Arts recipient Morten Lauridsen, who will accompany the choir.

The Miami Chamber Chorale includes members of the Miami University Chamber Singers and the Collegiate Chorale. As with all of the university ensembles, membership in the Chamber Chorale represents students from academic disciplines across the university at the undergraduate and graduate level.

Information about scheduling and tickets to the performances is available on the World Choir Games website.
