The Havighurst Center for Russian and Post-Soviet Studies announces the new Havighurst Junior Fellowship, which is awarded to qualified high school seniors and current Miami undergraduate who declare Russian, Eastern European and Eurasian studies (REEES) as a major.

A faculty committee will select the recipients of this award, based in part on the applicant’s academic record. Benefits of the fellowship include: a one-time award of $500 for newly declared majors; priority access to additional funding for summer, semester and year-long study abroad in the region; selective access to reserved study space in the Havighurst Center; and exclusive invitations to Havighurst dinners and one-on-one meetings with Havighurst speakers and visitors.

Applications for the Havighurst Junior Fellowship are due Sept. 14. Applicants must be enrolled in or haven taken Russian 101 or the equivalent.
