Miami University's Jennifer Ward received the Dorothy Brickman Award for outstanding new professional at the 2012 Association of International Educators (NAFSA) Region VI conference this month in Columbus. Ward is the international program coordinator and adviser within the university’s office of international education (OIE).
This award was created by Region VI in 2003 to honor the pioneering spirit, energy, compassion and selfless dedication to international education that is the hallmark and legacy of Dorothy Brickman. The award is presented annually to a NAFSA member who has been in the profession less than three years and has made significant contributions to her campus, the regional organization and/or the field of international education.
Ward was nominated for this award by her colleagues in OIE based on her hard work, dedication and efforts to bring international and domestic students together on Miami's campus. She joined Miami in July 2011.
NAFSA is the leading association in the field of international education and exchange. Miami is a member of NAFSA Region VI, which includes schools in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.
