The Kenji Williams Ensemble presents
The Kenji Williams Ensemble performs “Bella Gaia: Beautiful Earth,” a multi-media experience featuring live musicians, dance and NASA visualizations, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Talawanda High School Performing Arts Center, 5301 University Park Blvd. The performance is part of the Miami University Performing Arts Series.

Bella Gaia is a “Living Atlas” journey of our world that expresses the deeply moving beauty of the Earth as seen through the eyes of astronauts, “a musical launch into space.”

This multimedia production was created by award-winning director and classically trained violinist Kenji Williams in collaboration with NASA. It will feature a live performance by Williams and other world-class musicians against a large-screen backdrop of orbiting visualizations of Earth from space.

Amidst NASA missions to Mars, a new field commercializing space travel and other recent deep space discoveries, “Bella Gaia” “turns our eyes back home to our planet.” From fires in the Amazon basin to time-lapse images of arctic ice melt, the stunning orbital imagery used in this production provides a simulation of the astronaut’s view from space as well as earthbound visitations from exotic Japanese temples to Egyptian pyramids, bringing a rich cultural dimension to the experience.

Williams will be in residency at Talawanda High School the day before the performance.
“Bella Gaia: Beautiful Earth” is presented by the Miami University Performing Arts Series and is sponsored by the Oxford Chamber of Commerce and Talawanda-Miami Partnership.

Tickets, $17 for adults, $16 for seniors, and $8 for students and youth, are available online at Performing Arts Series or call the Miami Box Office at (513) 529-3200.
