Raise awareness for healthy hearts; wear red Friday

Be a part of Miami University's Employee Wellness push to raise awareness for healthy hearts and wear red Friday, Feb. 15. Also, join Team Miami and get ready for the 5K Red Brick Run April 21. Training starts now.

Wear Red Day 2013

Join Employee Wellness and Miami athletes as they raise awareness for fight against heart disease in women. Enter to win Miami athletic tickets and gear by wearing red and attending the photo event Friday, Feb. 15, at 12:15 p.m. at the main entrance of Goggin Ice Center.

If you are unable to attend, submit a photo of your office wearing red before 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at healthandwellbeing@miamioh.edu to be included in a prize drawing.

Other ways to get involved include volunteering, collecting donations from your office for the month of February and wearing red at the adult open skate noon-1 p.m. Feb. 15.

Team Miami 5K

Team Miami motivates employees and community members to complete the Red Brick Run 5K to be held 5:30-6:30 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at Millet Hall, West Concourse.

A ten-week training program begins Monday, Feb. 11, to help participants walk, jog or run the 3.1 miles. The training will be held 5:30-6:30 p.m. Mondays and will include group teaching and training tips, group support, weekly training schedule and an official team Miami shirt.

All Miami employees and community members of any fitness level are welcome. The cost for Miami employees is $25 excluding student employees and $35 for all non-employees.

Register through your Healthy Miami account or by calling on 513-529-3492. Walk-in registrations are also welcome.
