"From Russia with Love" chamber music concert March 3


Visiting Russian musicians Tatyana Kuznetsova, violin, and Anna Misaylova, cello, will perform with Miami music faculty Mary E.M. Harris, viola, Andrea Ridilla, oboe, and Christin Schillinger, bassoon, in a free chamber music concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 3, in Souers Recital Hall.

Kuznetsova is concertmistress and Misaylova is principal cellist of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra in Vladivostok, Russia. They are in residence at Miami Feb. 25-March 9.

The group will perform Trio Sonata in C Minor for Violin, Oboe and Basso Continuo by Georg Phillip Telemann; Quartet for Bassoon and Strings by Francois Devienne; and Quartet for Oboe and Strings by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Their visit is sponsored by the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Consulate in Vladivostok, Russia.

During their residency, Kuznetsova and Misaylova will perform with the Miami University Symphony Orchestra, directed by Ricardo Averbach, in the “Music and Power” gala concert March 1.

The collaboration will sponsor Miami musicians Andrea Ridilla and Ricardo Averbach to be in residence in Vladivostok March 22-April 7.
