"Grand Night in Vegas" March 22-23

The Miami University department of music will present "A Grand Night in Vegas" at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 22 and 23, in Hall Auditorium. "Grand Night" features many of Miami's finest vocalists and instrumentalists in an evening of song and dance showcasing music that made "Sin City" famous.

Songs include the hits of Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Tony Bennett, Celine Dion, Nat King Cole, Liberace and Wayne Newton, and those from the musical "The Lion King."

The show is directed by Benjamin Smolder, associate professor of music; produced by Mari Opatz-Muni, associate professor of music and director of the opera program; and choreographed by Jay Goodlet of the Cincinnati Ballet Company.

Guest artists include Cincy Brass, pianist Tedrin Lindsay of the opera faculty at the University of Kentucky, and clarinetist Michele Gingras, Distinguished Professor of Music at Miami.

Tickets, $15 adults, $13 senior citizens and $10 students, are available at the Miami box office in Shriver Center.
